The Center for GYN Surgery
The Center for GYN Surgery, or CGS, is one of the most highly advanced, technically competent minimally invasive GYN surgical practices in the world.
CGS surgeons are fellowship trained specifically in Advanced Retroperitoneal Laparoscopic Surgical (ARLS) techniques, and are certified DualportGYN providers. ARLS and DualportGYN training places CGS surgeons at the “cutting edge” of their specialty. The results are remarkable, allowing them to perform surgeries that otherwise would require larger incisions with longer recovery times, such as robotic or open procedures. With this training, CGS surgeons performs some of the most innovative and life changing procedures to enhance the quality of life and recovery of their patients, and to decrease pain and suffering from surgery.
As a patient and informed consumer, go beyond the “business of medicine.”
Go beyond the marketing of health care directly to patients, which can be biased and misleading. Understand that primary care physicians often do not know the best surgical options for their patients, and their referral to a surgeon may not provide you the best possible care. Realize that OBGYN’s concentrate mainly on Obstetrics, and have limited experience with laparoscopic surgery with no training in ARLS and Dualport procedures.
In the present health care climate, you MUST be your own best advocate. The purpose of this website is to empower patients through education, and to reveal the best options available for patients requiring GYN surgery.
CGS encourages you to explore this site, and understand the significant advantages of ARLS and DualportGYN procedures over standard laparoscopy, robotic and open surgery. Once you have a greater understanding of the advantages of ARLS and DualportGYN procedures, CGS physicians will guide you through all your options to make the best possible choice for your surgical care.
The surgeons of CGS hope to be of assistance to you, and are available to see you for an appointment or second opinion at our offices in Annapolis, Bethesda, McLean, and Reston.
